Founded by Julie Sengupta, Goynaghor was born from her lifelong fascination with handcrafted art and Indian heritage.
Raised amidst the cultural mosaics of India's metro cities, Julie grew up surrounded by colours, textures, and stories that shaped her aesthetic soul.
What began as a personal love for jewellery soon turned into a purpose — to bring Bengal's hidden artistry to the world. Every Goynaghor creation is an ode to India's craftsmanship, women's individuality, and the emotion behind handmade beauty.
The word "Goynaghor" (গয়নাঘর) comes from Bengali — meaning "The House of Jewels." For us, it's not just a name; it's a home for art, for dreams, and for artisans whose hands breathe life into every creation.
At Goynaghor, jewellery is not manufactured — it's born through touch. Our artisans from West Bengal handcraft each piece using techniques passed down through generations, moulding clay, polishing onyx, stringing beads, painting details with patience and pride.
From the red earth of Bishnupur to the shells of coastal Bengal, their craft tells the story of an India that still beats by hand.
We honour their skill, empower their livelihood, and bring their art to those who value authenticity over automation.
Discover Our Craftsmanship →In a world rushing toward machine-made perfection, Goynaghor stands for something slower, purer, and more meaningful. Our jewellery carries imperfections that make it real, textures that tell stories, and colours that celebrate life.
Each design reflects Julie's philosophy — "Fashion should connect the hand that made it to the heart that wears it."
Goynaghor aims to bridge generations — bringing Bengal's centuries-old craftsmanship to the global stage through a modern, minimalist lens.
We dream of a future where every woman wears not just jewellery, but a story — of art, tradition, and emotion. Our mission is simple: To make handcrafted luxury accessible; To honour artisans; To create pieces that stay forever — in style, and in soul.
"When I started Goynaghor, I wasn't chasing fashion trends — I was chasing emotions. Every artisan I met, every piece I held, told me that beauty lives in touch, not in polish. Goynaghor is my way of preserving that truth — of giving handmade art the space it deserves."
— Julie Sengupta, Founder, Goynaghor
